Jim has been involved with concrete construction since 1984. After graduating from Purdue University in December 1983 with a degree in Construction Engineering & Management, Jim joined Charles Pankow Builders in January 1984 and worked his way up to eventually become the Chief Concrete Estimator for Pankow. Jim’s resume of building, estimating, and planning the construction of large commercial projects, is impressive.
During his first few years with Pankow, Jim was a concrete project engineer involved with multiple large commercial projects. Like many of his fellow project engineers, one of his many tasks was to order concrete for the projects he was assigned to. Because of this assignment, he became intimately aware of the potential for the waste of concrete material and money within the concrete order supply chain—from batching to placing. Today, with the advent of new technologies, Jim has found a way to reduce the waste and stress associated with ordering concrete.
Jim’s other interests include spending time with his family, being active in his community, staying fit, and enjoying the year round outdoor activities that California provides.
